One page resume format
Nearly every fresher resume should be one page, and nearly every one that is not could be. The problem is almost never too much content; it is content that has not been prioritised.
There is a correct order in which to cut, and it is not 'shrink the font'. Reducing type below 10pt or margins below 0.5 inches makes the page harder to read, which defeats the purpose of fitting it on one.
Cut in this order: the objective, the declaration, personal details, hobbies, coursework lists, references, then the weakest project. By that point almost everything fits.
Section order
Top to bottom. The order matters more than the styling, because it decides what a reader sees in the first few seconds.
- HeaderTwo lines maximum. Contact details on one line separated by dots.
- SkillsGrouped into three or four lines rather than a bulleted list.
- ProjectsTwo, at two or three bullets each.
- ExperienceTwo or three bullets per role, not five.
- EducationOne line per qualification.
- AchievementsOne line each, or a single combined line.
What has to be on the page
- Body text between 10 and 11.5pt. Below 10pt is a readability problem, not a solution.
- Margins of at least 0.5 inches on all sides.
- Contact details on one line rather than stacked.
- Consistent spacing, because uneven gaps waste more vertical space than most people realise.
Bullets in the right shape
Bracketed values are placeholders. Substitute your own real figures, and leave a line out entirely rather than inventing a number for it.
Contact on one line: [city] · [phone] · [email] · [linkedin.com/in/you] · [github.com/you]
Skills as grouped lines: 'Languages: [x, y, z] · Frameworks: [a, b] · Tools: [c, d]'
Education as one line each: '[Degree], [college], [year] — CGPA [x/10]'

Questions
How do I fit my resume on one page?
Cut in order: objective, declaration, personal details, hobbies, coursework list, references line, weakest project. Then group the skills section into category lines and put contact details on a single line. Change the font size last, and never below 10pt.
Is a two-page resume ever acceptable for a fresher?
Rarely. Academic CVs with genuine publications and research applications are the real exception. For industry fresher applications, a second page signals an inability to prioritise.
What font size should a resume use?
Body text at 10 to 11.5pt, headings two to four points larger. Below 10pt readability drops sharply, especially when the resume is printed for an interview panel.
