BCA fresher resume format
BCA graduates compete for the same entry-level IT roles as B.Tech CSE graduates, frequently against recruiters who treat the degree as a tiebreaker. The resume has to close that gap with demonstrated work rather than argue about it.
That makes the projects and certifications sections load-bearing. A BCA resume with three real projects and a named certification outranks a B.Tech resume with neither, and screeners know it.
Lead with skills and projects. Education goes below them unless you are applying to a company with a stated degree filter.
Section order
Top to bottom. The order matters more than the styling, because it decides what a reader sees in the first few seconds.
- HeaderName, phone, email, GitHub, LinkedIn, city.
- Technical skillsFirst, because it is the section that gets you past the keyword screen.
- ProjectsThree if you have them. This is where BCA candidates win or lose the shortlist.
- CertificationsNamed and dated. Carries real weight for this profile.
- InternshipsAny industry exposure, however short.
- EducationBCA with percentage or CGPA, plus 12th.
What has to be on the page
- Three projects, at least one of which touches a database and one of which is deployed somewhere reachable.
- Certifications with the issuer named: NPTEL, Coursera, AWS, Microsoft, Google.
- A GitHub profile that is not empty, linked in the header.
- Skills organised by category, with a database and a version-control tool present.
Bullets in the right shape
Bracketed values are placeholders. Substitute your own real figures, and leave a line out entirely rather than inventing a number for it.

Questions
Can a BCA graduate get a software developer job?
Yes, and routinely does at product companies and IT services firms. The filter that matters in practice is demonstrated coding ability, which is why the projects and GitHub link do more work here than on a B.Tech resume.
Should I mention MCA plans on a BCA resume?
Only if you are applying for roles that end before the course starts. Otherwise it tells a recruiter you will leave within the year, which is a reason to pass on you.
